Experiences, 50% Off!

This retail reconfiguration fascinates me. Granted this article is written by someone who calls himself a "futurist" so take it with a grain of salt, but it feels like a reasonable prediction, which in and of itself is fascinating because it blurs the line between Blade Runner and the near future.

The selling of stories and experiences is becoming much more overt. Good old Nordys is opening a small-scale urban shop with low inventory only for trying clothing on (if you like it, you get it shipped to you a la Bonobos), plus they offer cocktails and manicures. It's a complete rewiring of the industry.

At some point will clothing retailers stop selling clothes and instead sell how you feel when you wear clothing?
